A stretch of 'Wreck Beach' is referred to as 'Point Grey'. In "Legends of Vancouver", poet Pauline Johnson tells a legend about 'Homolsom Rock' and its special meaning for the 'First Nations'. How the evil spirit "destroyed all the fishing boats and sent the fishermen to their deaths". He was defeated and turned into 'Homolsom Rock'.
