The nearly 300-acre site training ground for the Röttiger barracks and other barracks in the district of Harburg was completely adjacent to the district of Neu Wulmstorf directly to the Fischbeker Heide and was connected by a driveway with the barracks area. The training ground was opened up by a Panzer Ring Road. The site is to be largely preserved as semi-natural heathland with small forests and wetlands.
