The Ahlen water tower is an industrial monument and a landmark of the city of Ahlen in the Münsterland. The spherical water tank on the 44-meter high steel framework has a capacity of 1000 m³. It was built in 1915–1917 for the water supply of the Westphalia colliery and its mining colony and was closed in 1982 by Gelsenwasser.(Source: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wasserturm_Ahlen)
