The Moulin pendu de Champtoceaux is the last water mill in the Loire, dating from the 13th century. It was part of a vast fortified complex today in ruins. The mill wheels were suspended and adjusted according to variations in the river level, hence the name "suspended mill". You can admire the arches of the mill and the remains of the medieval citadel on the heights.
