The Leeraarsgroeve itself is located on the slope, directly below it, at street level, is the Groeve under the Leeraarsgroeve. The Leeraarsgroeve was mined from before 1500 until the 1800s. The quarry's corridors are not stable, and the rear part has been affected by surface mining.
The Groeve under the Leeraarsgroeve consists of four entrances, which are mutually connected. They are located in very beautiful, several meters high rock walls. This quarry is also not stable, the ceiling contains fractures.
