Góra Zamkowa Staroród is a historical place with a history dating back to the beginnings of the formation of the Slavic culture, through the Lusatian or Proto-Slavic culture. Due to its location on dry lands, on a significant hill, near water and communication routes, already around 560 BC, Staroród was a significant stronghold for the area known as "Płutowo - Staroród - Kałdus".
At the beginning of the 13th century AD, the Teutonic Knights took over the Starogrodzka Land. Góra Zamkowa is a place where the Teutonic Knights built their first fortified castle, and only later did they cover the conquered areas with a whole network of castles, e.g. Toruń, Radzyń Malbork and many others. The castle has been ruined and no traces of it can be seen at the moment.
Starogrodzka Góra Zamkowa is a place sanctified by staying
relics of Saint Barbara in the chapel of the Old Town Castle. The castle chapel, which was high, spacious, with seven windows and a marble floor, must have made an impression. It was decorated with three altars, including one dedicated to Saint Barbara, the patron saint of the church.
Góra Zamkowa Staroród is an excellent vantage point for the surrounding areas located in the Vistula valley.
In autumn colors everything looks even more charming.
