The station is the work of engineer Louis Harel de la Noë, and was built between 1902 and 1905. The vault supporting the framework is supported by eight parabolic arches. The architect David Cras was in charge of the conversion of the building in 1995. The building was preserved under the action of the Association des Chemins de Fer des Côtes-du-Nord.

The marquise offered four covered lanes. A building located laterally to the marquee served as a traveler building and administrative center of the network.

Several buildings were added during the evolution of the network.

When the departmental network closed on December 31, 1956, the station was used as a bus station. The converted building is now used as a university restaurant. The remaining parts of the station were listed as historical monuments on March 3, 2014.
