I approached this from the woods east of the tower, it was abit of a hike a bike but it was very fun. We then got a nice decent off the hill. If you fancy a lil adventure I would try this.

You'll have to leave your bike at the gate (or hoik it over) to take a closer look at Hoober Stand, but it's such a strange building that it's worth the effort.
The tower stands 30-metres-high on a ridge in hoober, close to the estate of Wentworth. The folly was commissioned by the Whig aristocrat Thomas Watson-Wentworth, Earl of Malton (later the 1st Marquess of Rockingham) and designed by Henry Flitcroft to commemorate the quashing of the 1745 Jacobite rebellion. There's a nice plaque above the door explaining it's origins.
