The Daun Maars are located in the Volcanic Eifel Nature Park, which covers an area of 970 square kilometers near the Moselle and Ormont on the Belgian border. Numerous hiking trails introduce you to the landscape with its maars and volcanoes. The Maarsee is around 325 m long, 300 m wide and a maximum of 38 m deep. With an area of around 7.2 hectares, the 30,000 year old maar is younger than the Schalkenmehrener Maars and the smallest of the three Dauner Maars.
Very nice hiking trails around the lake and lots of nature. Great.
