The Plothner Lake District (also called the Land of 1000 Ponds) is an area of several ponds. The area extends over Dreba, Knau and Plothen itself. In this area there is an almost countless variety of animals, especially water birds, which are very common here and are rarely seen. The entire area is therefore protected. You should respect that in order to preserve this beautiful piece of nature, not go biking or hiking off the beaten track.
