The Pötnitz Church is a Protestant church in the Mildensee district in the east of the city of Dessau-Roßlau in Saxony-Anhalt. Along with the brick church of Axien, it is one of the southernmost examples of Romanesque brick architecture in Saxony-Anhalt.

At the southwestern edge of the former village of Pötnitz stands the present-day church of Dessau-Mildensee. The large brick building was erected around 1180 as a three-aisled basilica. The Romanesque architectural style is still recognizable today, although alterations have been made to the church over the centuries. With the founding of a Benedictine monastery in Mildensee, the church was elevated to parish church status by the Imperial Abbey of Nienburg in 1198.[1]

At the beginning of the 19th century, Prince Franz of Anhalt commissioned his architect, Carlo Ignazio Pozzi, to redesign the church into its present form.
