Tips

  • Haideburg Hunting Lodge was commissioned by Prince Leopold Friedrich of Anhalt-Dessau, based on a design by Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff, and built between 1782 and 1783. The complex was expanded again in 1903 and 1920.
Today, the hunting lodge and its outbuildings house the Anhalt Forestry Department.
On October 14, 1782, a 22-pointer was killed after an hour and a half of hunting. The sandstone monument (original!) in front of the hunting lodge commemorates this event.
