The Olympic stadium, nicknamed "Alassane-Ouattara stadium", is a multipurpose stadium, which can host football, rugby and athletics competitions, in Ebimpé and Anyama, north of Abidjan. It is the stadium of the national football team of Côte d'Ivoire with a capacity of 60,000 seats, considered one of the largest in Africa, built by the Beijing Institute of Architectural Design. While the stadium covers 20 hectares, a vast Olympic Village is planned around 287 hectares. Inaugurated on October 3, 2020, the stadium is expected to host the opening ceremony and the final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
