From 1970 to 1985 this was the site of the former safari land with lions and other wild animals. Nature has reclaimed the former open spaces so that the former safari area is no longer visible.

Safariland first opened on July 13, 1970, and the animal park area consisted of a large tiger and lion enclosure, a small, artificial lake, and elephants, giraffes, zebras, camels, and a petting zoo. Until 1974, cars were allowed to drive through Safariland, but then veterinarians discovered lead in the predators' blood. Thousands of cars driving through the predator enclosure had left their mark, and a Western-style safari track was needed. From around 1986 onward, things continued to decline, and the conversion into an amusement park didn't quite work out...
Today, only a few remnants remain of the former animal and amusement park; you can still find a few dilapidated stone statues and concrete blocks that once served as foundations for fence posts.
