The wall is a historical border marker on the Tromm, which separated the Palatinate from the Odenwald

Old border facility between Erbach and the Electoral Palatinate, which extended over the entire ridge

An ancient wall of smaller boulders, which used to mark a border.
An information board from the Geonaturpark Bergstrasse-Odenwald "The border wall on the Tromm" provides more information.

The Tromm border wall was originally a border marker between the Palatinate, the Electorate of Mainz and the County of Erbach. It was probably built during the Middle Ages, when the population grew and ownership became more complicated in the 14th and 15th centuries. In the process, natural rock groups were marked as border points, and later the first boundary stones were placed.

The wall shown in the photo is a replica that was created in 2006 by students from the Überwaldgymnasium from stones. It is around 45 meters long.

The rest of the old border wall can be seen in several places on the Tromm. Here, however, there is an information board on which some interesting explanations can be found.

A great piece of forest on the way from Tromm towards Schardhof.
