In the small park, on the top of a hill, there are two bizarrely stacked granite rocks that are popularly known as Teufelsstein. The legend tells that pagans were once baptized here. It is quite possible that this rock formation was once a pagan place of worship, especially since a St. Wolfgang chapel was built not far from it in the Middle Ages. bayern-online.de/fichtelgebirge/erleben/natur/felsen

In a small park on the Kappel is the Teufelsstein. In the Middle Ages stood here the St-Wolfgang chapel. It is believed to have been built here because the Devil's Stone was formerly a magical place or pagan ritual, which the church often misinterpreted as devil worship and erected Christian buildings or symbols in its place.
