Ferchensee... Many locals find the Ferchensee "to die for" - beautiful enough to make you fall to your knees. The natural spectacle at 1,060 metres near Mittenwald is varied. Sometimes the forests around it turn its surface dark green. Sometimes the mighty Wetterstein wall and the Ferchensee walls are reflected, depending on which side you look at the alpine lake from. The white sand on its northern shore looks almost exotic. The last ice age formed the Ferchensee, just like the nine other lakes around Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau. The Ferchensee is an alpine lake like in a picture book.
