First mentioned in some documents from 1005 - 1015 , which also mention the community of Benedictine nuns of the adjoining monastery, the church of Sant'Uldarico was built on the site of an ancient Roman theater : the remains of the latter are found between 1843 and 1845. A parish church since 1363, it was consecrated on May 12, 1411, but its current appearance, as regards the front part, dates from a reconstruction by Gaetano Ghidetti dating from around 1762. In addition, in 1902 the back wall was demolished and an apse replaced it.

The Chiosco di Sant'Uldarico is an absolute must-see, a hidden architectural gem and precious testimony to the late Romanesque period.
