Lake Ossiach

Beautiful lake with many cycling opportunities. The tour around the lake is also suitable for beginners, otherwise there are various trails and opportunities to cycle up the Gerlitzen. Villach in the south and Feldkirchen in the north are also not far away.

Bleistätter Moor: Tiebelmündung European conservation area The Bleistätter Moor Slow Trail leads through the species-rich nature, landscape and European conservation area of the Tiebelmündung and offers insights into the habitat of around 100 different species of birds, butterflies, bats and beavers. This easy circular tour (also suitable for Nordic walking and running) is very flat along the eastern shore of Lake Ossiach and leads through the Bleistätter Moor, which has been flooded since 2017; after around 7 kilometers (max. 2 hours walking time) you return to the starting point. A tip for a stop is the → Trout Station at the Prefelnigteich, which is just a few hundred meters away from the Slow Trail.
