From 1952, Otto Uetz senior mined gravel in the Rems and in various quarry ponds to the east. The gravel was loaded onto the ship in hoppers. A ship brought the gravel hoppers to the crane track. There the gravel was cleaned and cut into various sizes. The company Uetz Straßenbau GmbH has erected one of the last testimonies of earlier raw material extraction in the Rems valley and made it available to the public.
