Jetzt wohne ich schon so lange in der Gegend und bin den Himmelsweg noch nie gewandert. Auf jeden Fall als Sonntagsspaziergang zu empfehlen. Zudem für jeden Pferdeliebhaber super, da mehrere Ställe auf dem Weg liegen. Nach einem Aufstieg durch den Wald erhält man einen tollen Ausblick am Grafenberg über Schorndorf bis nach Plüderhausen. Der anschließende Waldabschnitt war leicht matschig aber dafür wunderbar einsam. Mit dem richtigen Schuhwerk ist hier kein Weg zu schwer, oder? ;)

Heute starten wir unsere Wanderung an der Weinsteige, direkt am Santiago-de-Chile-Platz. Von hier oben blicken wir über ganz Stuttgart – ein perfekter Auftakt, bevor wir in den Wald eintauchen. Noch ein letzter Blick über die Stadt, dann folgen wir dem Rössleweg bergauf und schon bald wird es ruhig um uns. Der Verkehrslärm verstummt, stattdessen hören wir nur noch Vogelgezwitscher und das Rascheln der Blätter. Der Weg führt uns vorbei am Waldfriedhof und immer tiefer in den Heslacher Wald hinein. Wir genießen den angenehmen Schatten und die frische Waldluft. Besonders beeindruckend ist die Schwälblesklinge, ein schmaler Einschnitt im Gelände, dessen feuchtes, moosbewachsenes Grün eine beinahe märchenhafte Stimmung erzeugt. Hier gehen wir langsam, schauen uns um und lassen die Atmosphäre auf uns wirken. Nach diesem Abschnitt erreichen wir das Waldheim Heslach. Wir machen eine kurze Pause, trinken etwas und freuen uns über die Stille zwischen den Bäumen. Dann führt uns der Weg weiter Richtung Birkenkopf. Der letzte Anstieg fordert uns noch einmal, aber der Blick entschädigt für jede Mühe: über die Stuttgarter Staffele geht's wieder bergab. Schließlich steigen wir hinab nach Botnang, zufrieden und mit dem Gefühl, einen kleinen Abenteuer-Tag mitten in der Stadt erlebt zu haben.
