The sculpture The Butt in Hand was unveiled by the Crown Prince on July 29, 2004.

The sculpture symbolizes the myth of King Christian 2, who was imprisoned at Sønderborg Castle for 12 years in the 16th century.
The artist imagines that the king has left the table forever. The myth of the groove on the edge of the table originated in Carl Bloch's 1871 painting (at Fredriksborg Castle) where the king stands at a table.
In fact, it never existed - before this sculpture.
