Built largely of basalt stone, a legacy of the volcanic history of the Agde territory, the historic center of Vias boasts a rich architectural heritage. Discover in particular the church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the market halls, the house of the Bishops, and the remains of the old medieval ramparts. Also keep an eye out for the 17th-century "serlian" doors that adorn some facades and are one of the architectural peculiarities of the old center. Along the way, don't miss the Théâtre de l’Ardaillon, which complements this discovery of Vias's heritage with a rich cultural program throughout the year.
