The church is known for its lime paintings. Created between 1450 and 1475, they are attributed to the so-called "Islefjordsværkssted", a group of painters who also decorated other churches with lime paintings. On the column right at the beginning is Christopherus, the patron saint of travelers and pilgrims. The church is definitely worth a visit. As a "church on the way" (Vejkirke) it is open every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
