Here lies the nature reserve Rammekenshoek, popularly known as the 'Ritthem forest'. In this forest of 70 hectares you will also find Fort Rammekens, the oldest sea fort in Europe. The nature reserve is known for its salt marshes, mudflats and creeks and is home to various coastal breeding birds, forest birds and salt-loving plants.
