The war memorial erected on the main road through the village bears witness to the turbulent history of this country.
It was erected after the First World War to commemorate the fallen residents of the village of Golub in 1914-18. The monument is in the form of a huge square obelisk made of hewn blocks of stone. Originally it carried a commemorative plaque with the names of 21 fallen, and on top of the obelisk was an isosceles Zelazny cross, the German symbol for bravery on the Field of Glory (source: local name).
