Over the centuries, it remained in the possession of the Counts of Flanders and then the Dukes of Burgundy for a long time, before becoming the property of the Counts of Morbecque. (Flemish: "Moerbeke")
The current castle dates from the end of the 19th century.
An aviation school, the "Institut Aeronautical Amaury de la Grange " (IAAG), is currently located here.
