Here you finally leave New York City and the actual bike tour can begin. The well-developed cycle path takes you through nature and only a few villages to Albany (if you want :-) ). From time to time you can buy food and, above all, use the tools and air pump of the numerous self-service bike stations.

Up to van cortland park it's awful. Through the bad parts of Harlem and Bronx (despite other bike lanes!!. Thanks for nothing Komoot!!) But then a paved road bike trail starts (Van cortland Greenway) which is good and fast. Definitely 30 km long, always in nature, in the forest (yes, you heard that right - FOREST). Hardly any intersections and certainly no cars. Just great. More pictures of the route will follow with more highlights.

It is good to take enough drinks with you. The path does not go through any village. Only after 15-20 km you can buy something again. Small shop is right "in the way"
