An Os (Ås, Äsar, Esker) or Wallberg is a wall-like, often curved elevation made of sand and gravel that was created in the Quaternary Ice Age (“Ice Age”). The typical narrow, elongated shape of the Oser was formed by glaciers and the meltwater flowing from them. This embankment-shaped landform made of meltwater sediments, the length of which usually extends to a few dozen, rarely several hundred kilometers, is an element of the ground moraine landscape. This Os chain or Os train runs south parallel to the Schwinge valley. In its western part, the Oszug has two arms (northern and southern Osarm) over which the paths lead. In the middle part there is a natural monument measuring around 4 hectares with old beech trees.
The Oszug is characterized in this area by many boulders.
