The Kleinolbersdorf church was built in just nine months in 1790 after the previous building, a Romanesque wooden church, was estimated to be 500 years old and was destroyed by fire. The construction management was the responsibility of the Jahnsbach master carpenter Johann Christian and Johann Traugott Lohse, who was born in Altenhain in 1760 and died in 1836 as lord of the castle in Schlettau. The early classicist building is a simple but spacious church with two galleries and a pulpit altar.
