Work for this will start in mid-September 2022. Rijkswaterstaat will temporarily remove the rotating part of the bridge to have it refurbished somewhere else. There will also be a new operating system, so that the bridge will soon be able to operate without any problems. After the work, the bridge once again meets the current machine and safety requirements and can last for years.
