A collection of rocks can be viewed next to the Natuurhuis Haspengouw visitor center in Gelinden. Handy because the visitor center is not open every day, but it is especially fascinating for those who are interested in the subject.

Several of the rocks come from the region (Gelinden also has its well-known, even famous, marl quarry) and some are in the strata that make up the hills here. You can further explore many of these rocks in the buildings of villages not far from here. For example, there is the tuff of Lincent that you will find nearby in Walloon Brabant (eg Hélécine and Lincent itself), to give just one example.

Each rock is nicely labelled: name, location, age and so on. And of course there are marls from Gelinden to view. Others you can see in the photos include Tongerian quartzite, Gobertange stone and Tiense quartzite. For those who like!
