The beautiful castle park immediately captivates us. The Putbus castle park is a real Garden of Eden for nature lovers. It is one of the few remaining landscape parks in Northern Europe and a special attraction on the island of Rügen. Around 300 years ago (1725), Count Moritz Ulrich zu Putbus had a collection of non-native trees planted here. The collection already included over 60 different tree species. Today, the 75-hectare Putbus castle park even contains a dendrological rarity: a tree with two different types of leaves. Unfortunately, we did not find this special tree 🌳.
