The bell tower of the Galliate parish church was built between 1871 and 1880, it is unfinished because the architect Rigorini's project envisaged a height of 93 meters. The work was begun, but the work was stopped every ten meters, both because the costs were too high and because there were doubts about reaching such a height. When it came to 45 meters, half of the initial project, the works were definitively stopped. At that point Rigorini decided to create a metal structure that would leave the bells uncovered, still visible today, so that in the future someone, perhaps with new technologies and more funds, could continue his work. To this day the bell tower is still the same.
