The abbey of Santa Maria del Patire is an ancient religious complex founded by Bartolomeo di Simeri in the 11th century. Located at an altitude of 600 meters and surrounded by the woods of the Sila Greca, it is part of a protected area and was an important center of Italian-Greek culture and spirituality until the fifteenth century.
