Canosa di Puglia is located on the north-western edge of the Murge, from where it dominates the Ofanto valley and the Tavoliere plain. It is a very ancient city with prehistoric origins and has known phases of splendor in Roman, Byzantine and Norman times. Of particular interest are the Cathedral of San Sabino, the mausoleum of Boemondo and the underground tombs.
