The Seufzerallee in Hanover is a centuries-old footpath on the west side of the Leine. The almost one kilometer long avenue lined with pollarded willows today leads from Arthur-Menge-Ufer to Parrot Bridge and on to Schnellen Graben.

The sighing avenue originally began in front of the historic town exit and was "probably created" on a dike that ran parallel to the Leine on both sides, which was then secured with pollarded willows. The avenue only developed into a popular promenade in the last third of the 18th century, popularly known as the Alley of Sighs. It is unclear whether the name refers to the sighs of lovers walking or those of those tired of life who decided to jump into the water.

It was not until 1957 that the name Seufzerallee was officially adopted by decision of the city council.
