The church of S. Eufemia was built in the 12th century after the destruction of the basilica of the same name on Isola Comacina. It retains externally Romanesque features and has a gabled facade and two central half-columns framing the entrance portal and an overlying fragment of a now illegible fresco.

Hiking

The history of this church is linked to that of the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia on Comacina Island, of which only fascinating ruins remain. The current parish church, in fact, was built in the 12th century after the destruction of most of the buildings on Comacina Island by the people of Como (1169).
The church, of Romanesque design, was altered over the centuries. Inside, Baroque frescoes and stucco work are featured.
In the church square, the rationalist architect Pietro Lingeri created this war memorial in 1924.
