Colon Ludwig Meyer had this striking, representative building built in the style of a small castle in 1886. Meyer was a member of the Prussian state parliament at the time. It is said that Meyer's regular stays in Berlin and Potsdam (and his knowledge of the palace and residence architecture there) inspired him to build this palace. The house is said to still be owned by Meyer's family today, only the family name has changed through marriages.
