The lock at Eefde is located in the Twente canal (Kanaal Zutphen - Enschede) and is a national monument from 1933, which is used by Rijkswaterstaat for water management and shipping traffic and was thoroughly renovated from 2003 to 2006. This beautiful lock processes about 15,000 ships annually. It is an architecturally beautiful complex by Dirk Roosenburg, grandfather of Remco Koolhaas.
