Tadeusz Nalepa is called the Father of Polish Blues. He was a famous composer, harmonica player, guitarist and singer. He graduated from a music school in Rzeszów, founded the bands Blackout and Breakout. Later in his career, he also created under his own name. He died in 2007.

The sculpture depicts a walking artist with his hair blown and a guitar in his hand, dressed in a leather jacket and narrow trousers, who is heading from the direction of the Parish Church towards Aleja Pod Kasztanami. It was created by artists from Krakow: Agnieszka Świerzowicz-Maślaniec and Marek Maślaniec, graduates of the Faculty of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Every year in Rzeszów, in memory of Nalepa, a music festival is held - Breakout Days, which aims to promote the band's music and the artist's personality.
