Judging by the writing carved into the stone, it is an old, historical boundary stone that marks the "old" city limits of Neustrelitz. I found it very helpful, because as a cyclist who doesn't know the area on forest routes, it's not always entirely clear whether you're already leaving the town or are you already close to a new place. Very interesting, little effort, lots of effect.
