Bike Touring Highlight
"The approximately 77 meter long bridge between Bilsdorf and Piesbach has a useful width of 1.70 meters and was installed by the Dillingen steel construction company Schäfer. The jetty was once built over the prims as an abbreviation for the miners and ironworkers who had to get to the station quickly. Many citizens used the Primssteg as a connecting route between Bilsdorf, Piesbach and Körprich. In 2016 the bridge was closed due to its dilapidated condition. After a review, it became clear that renovation was no longer possible. So the new building started. In total, the metal construction cost 440,000 euros, of which 370,000 euros were subsidized by the state. "Source: Saarbrücker Zeitung (Dieter Lorig / red.)
