The inscription lists all the locations of the Stumm empire at that time and shows how large the Stumm iron empire had grown over three generations.
As early as 1761, the Stumm family tried to lease the Neunkirch ironworks, but this was unsuccessful at the time. On March 21, 1806, the Stumm brothers bought the Neunkirch ironworks. In 1845, when the stele was erected, Neunkirchen was the focus and heart of the Stumm empire.
