Within these walls, there once was a tower called Direction Finding Station (DF Station). Higher radio frequencies were used and such High Frequency Direction Finding Stations (Huff Duffs), a network of which existed throughout the country. They were essential at identifying enemy aircraft during World War 2.
A fascinating place. There is a good information board provided within the walls of the now ruined and disused building.
