The artificial mountain is the result of restoration of the old Waste Center Udholm, the area is today called Udholm Activity Area, The old municipal buildings on the site are today occupied by volunteers and local associations. Among others, archers, a dog club and the bog guild are housed here. The mountain itself was built in 2018, and from the top offers a unique view over Udholm bog, the peat areas and with the old briquette factory to the north east.

The digging of peat in the bog areas plagued by sand drift has left behind a mosaic of small lakes and bog thickets around Udholm. There is a rich birdlife with many ducks, waders and small birds. The harrier has its nest in the densest parts of the reed forest, and the cranes are often seen in the open ground hunting for small animals. The waterholes are habitat for a large number of amphibians and aquatic insects, and in the marginal areas around the waterholes the rare butterfly, heathspot wing, lives on the host plant, devil's bite. Foxes, roe deer, fallow deer and roe deer are often seen.
