The rose has a special meaning in Bad Tölz. It used to be a symbol of the prosperity of the small town on the Isar and was considered a trademark of the handicrafts made locally. Today, a park is dedicated to the queen of flowers: the Streidlgarten-Rosenpark, right behind the tourist information in the spa district. An interesting variety of rose varieties thrive in the park, which is surrounded by former monastery walls, including some old and rare ones such as the delicate pink colored and strongly scented "Tölzer Rose".
