Elmalı

Elmalı is an old town that is rich in history. It was founded by the Tekeli Turkish tribes and later came under Ottoman rule during the reign of Bayezid I. with the oldest foundations dated 1419. The town is surrounded by the Beydağları, a branch of the Taurus Mountains.
Culture, tradition and cultural tourism is a great factor in Elmalı with historical artifacts from archaeological excavations and handicrafts such as coppersmithing, blacksmithing and jewelry making which are still performed here today.
