Technically starting as the Spaulding trail, then splitting off into the Auke Nu trail, this path is prized for its relative quiet and solitude.

As you near the end of the trail it also offers pretty views in almost all directions, including over Juneau. Boardwalk planks help keep your feet at least somewhat dry as you travel through temperate rainforest.

The trail ends at the John Muir public use cabin.
