Artwork in Monheim - is right on the street. Please watch out for the swans and the little girl at the end of the crane.

The Demag crane, which has been on the Monbagsee on Opladener Strasse since 1928, handled around 10 tons of gravel and sand up until the 1980s. Funding was discontinued at the end of 1998, and four years later the crane was entered in the city's list of monuments as an “important industrial monument”. The gravel pit on Opladener Strasse developed into a lake almost seventy hectares in size and up to 22 meters deep.
By the way, the electric locomotive No. 15 on the town hall square in Monheim is as old as the crane.

The crane that has stood on Opladener Strasse at Lake Monbag since 1928 is far from being old-fashioned. With its mighty grab, the blue colossus handled around ten million tons of gravel and sand up until the 1980s. Funding was discontinued at the end of 1998, and four years later the crane was entered in the municipal list of monuments as an "important industrial monument".

From the window of the small house there is a good view of the lake.
